Long story short: What travelling has taught me

I was away from home for about two years, was not only travelling, but living abroad. It was time full of wonderful discoveries, great moments and priceless experience. I still feel blessed it happened to me.

Time passes and I’m finally here, in Russia, already for a week. It was a really shocking week, full of great time with friends, exploring again my own culture and noticing tones of differences between Russia and Latin America, mainly Colombia. I have a lot to say, but will try to be short and specific.

I’ve been travelling for about 2 years, I’ve met a lot of different people from all over the world and interacted with all types of social classes, but one thing they all share in common is a poor image of the country that I am currently a resident of – Colombia – and its capital Bogota. This country is magical, there’s something very special about it and its culture that makes it unique among all Latin America. Already a funny reversed name actively used by locals can tell you a lot about it: Locombia, that is pretty impossible to translate, but gives you an idea of a “crazy Colombia” (from Spanish Loco, meaning “crazy”).

If you have several weeks to explore Colombia, you’ll be fascinated by its destinations. And even if you have only several days, you’ll catch its spirit. Let’s start with the capital and try to see the best of the best and the most essential. Here I’ll show you the way…

How it feels to go back to your country

Going back home after 2 years of living on another continent, not speaking your language and being accustomed to another culture is a deal. I’ve lived so much here! In several hours I’ll have my flight to Russia and it’s just unbelievable. Yep, can’t imagine it can happen.

Well, I believe I’ve changed a lot, but only several weeks ago Skypeing my Moscow friends I realized I had no idea how to live there.

Now it is a period of my life that was waiting for a long time! I knew it would be difficult, but too interesting to live. Actually, it is one of the reasons there were no updates, why I didn’t Skype to my parents or friends. Now everything changed, even my preferences to spend my free time: there could be nothing better, but sleeping!

Well, long time ago I was dreaming of a busy life with a high productivity and a lot of interesting stuff to do. And now I’m doing exactly all this
